Maharajganj, January 24: As Republic Day approaches, security along the India-Nepal border in the Maharajganj district has been significantly heightened. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and local police have implemented a series of robust security measures, including the deployment of specialized dog squads and advanced surveillance systems, according to a police official.

Maharajganj’s Superintendent of Police (SP) revealed that the SSB has installed both closed-circuit and drone cameras across all routes leading into Nepal. The goal is to bolster vigilance and prevent any untoward activities along the porous border, particularly in the wake of Republic Day celebrations.

In a bid to prevent any potential terrorist movements, security agencies have been directed to thoroughly verify the identities of individuals before granting them permission to cross the border. These security upgrades are part of an ongoing effort to secure the border and deter infiltration by anti-national elements, ensuring peace and stability in the region.
