New Delhi, October 21: India's Diwali sales have soared to an unprecedented Rs 6.05 lakh crore, marking a significant milestone. This figure includes Rs 5.40 lakh crore in goods and Rs 65,000 crore in services, according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). The surge in sales has been attributed to recent GST reforms and strong consumer confidence.

CAIT's findings, based on a comprehensive nationwide survey conducted across 60 major distribution hubs, including state capitals and Tier 2 & 3 cities, reveal the remarkable growth in the festive retail sector.

In comparison, last year's Diwali sales stood at Rs 4.25 lakh crore, reflecting a substantial year-on-year increase.
