Mayurbhanj, Aug 14: Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous searches at various properties of the Nilagiri Deputy Collector on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The accused has been identified as Pariktha Jena. He is a former BDO of the Suliapada block in the Mayurbhanj district.
Sources said, the teams of the anti-corruption agency comprising two Additional SPs, four DSPs, six Inspectors, seven ASIs, and other supporting staff
The raids were conducted on the allegation of misappropriation of Government money to the tune of Rs. 1,01,03,215/- (One Crore one lakh three thousand two hundred fifteen) only of Odisha Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation (OMBADC) funds without executing different developmental works in the Suliapada Block area during the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
The searches are still underway and a detailed report is awaited.
