Bhubaneswar, July 20: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will hold a special two-day camp sitting in Bhubaneswar starting Monday, July 21, to address cases related to girl trafficking, witchcraft-related violence, and crimes against women.

NHRC Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian and other members will hear cases involving deaths due to snake bites, inadequate medical aid, flooding, journalist attacks, and other rights violations. Complainants and state authorities have been asked to attend for immediate resolutions.

The NHRC will also meet with top state officials and interact with civil society groups on Tuesday. A media briefing will follow to share the outcomes. This is part of NHRC’s wider outreach, having conducted similar sittings in 24 states and UTs over the past 18 years.
