Mumbai, Dec 21: Ahead of the release of the war film 'Ikkis,' actor Sunny Deol remembered his father, legendary actor Dharmendra, as he shared a behind-the scenes video from the movie, where the 'He-Man' will be seen in a posthumous appearance.

Sunny Deol has taken to social media with a deeply heartfelt message as the release of Ikkis — the final film of his legendary father Dharmendra — draws near. The video and subsequent appeal have stirred strong emotions among fans and cinephiles across India and beyond.

Sunny Deol posted a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of Ikkis on his Instagram account. In the video, the late Dharmendra is seen reflecting on his experience working on the film and expressing gratitude to the cast and crew. The iconic actor also shared his feelings on completing the shoot, describing the moment as a mix of happiness and sadness on what he described as the last day of filming.

In the video clip, Dharmendra says he is “extremely happy” to have been part of the project and praises the team’s effort. He goes on to express a wish that people from both India and Pakistan watch the film, highlighting the universal resonance of its story. He also offers an emotional note to his fans, saying, “I love you all; if I made any mistake, please forgive me.”

Sunny Deol’s caption accompanying the post was equally poignant. He wrote about his father’s smile that “lit up the darkness” and emphasized the boundless generosity and love Dharmendra shared with everyone around him. Sunny urged fans to celebrate Dharmendra’s legacy by watching Ikkis in theatres this New Year.

Ikkis is directed by Sriram Raghavan and based on the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, one of the youngest recipients of India’s highest wartime gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra, for his bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. The film stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role, with Dharmendra making a key appearance in what is being billed as his final screen performance.
