Bhadrak, Jan 27: Two people were killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident near Parapokhari Chhak on the Basudebpur–Dhamara road in Sanakrishnapur Panchayat, Bhadrak district.

According to sources, the victims were traveling from Chandimal Chhak towards Bideipur when a speeding vehicle coming from the opposite direction hit them, causing them to be thrown from their bike. Locals rushed to the scene after hearing the crash and took the injured to Basudebpur Medical, where doctors declared both dead on arrival.

The deceased have been identified as Deepak Raut and Chinmayee Mallik, residents of Yajpur Bairimal area. Both were employed as JCB operators in the Parapokhari region. Authorities are investigating the incident and searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
