Mumbai, Nov 30: Amidst the speculation on next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday said the new Mahayuti government will be sworn in on December 5.
The swearing in ceremony will take place at Azad Maidan in Mumbai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the event, state BJP unit chief said.
"The oath-taking ceremony of the Mahayuti Government in Maharashtra will be held in the presence of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 5 PM at Azad Maidan, Mumbai," Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated on X on Saturday evening.
The Mahayuti comprises BJP, Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, and NCP headed by Ajit Pawar.
However, even after the announcement of poll results on November 23, no decision has been made on who will be the chief minister.
Shinde, Fadnavis and Pawar met BJP president J P Nadda and Union minister Amit Shah late Thursday to choose the next Chief Minister.
The BJP bagged 132 constituencies, the highest among all constituents of the Mahayuti. Shinde's Shiv Sena won 57 while Ajit Pawar’s NCP won 41 seats.
