Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 will be conducted on February 8, 2026. The national-level examination will take place in 132 cities across India and will be held in 20 different languages. Candidates can choose their preferred language while applying.

According to the notification, detailed information regarding the exam syllabus, eligibility criteria, application fee, exam pattern, and exam centers will soon be available on the official CTET website — https://ctet.nic.in

.The CTET 2026 will comprise two papers:

  • Paper I for teaching positions in Classes 1 to 5
  • Paper II for teaching positions in Classes 6 to 8

Each paper will carry 150 marks and feature multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be no negative marking in the test.

CTET qualification is mandatory for aspiring teachers seeking employment in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), and other centrally run schools across the country.
