Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: As the election draws closer, the number of aspirants has been increasing in the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) in the Mahanga assembly constituency of Cuttack district.

Sumant Ghadai, an RSS man has emerged as a new contender for the BJP ticket.

Sumanta has recently shown his strength in the constituency during the Ramlalla’s consecration program in Ayodha. He has created a buzz in political circles by organizing a huge procession in Nischintakoli block. Sumant along with hundreds of supporters started the procession from Nischintkoili bazar and it culminated at Hanuman Temple near Tarat.

Sumata, who is a member of the Hindu Jagaran Manch, Odisha state unit, has not yet officially joined the BJP. But he is in contact with the senior leadership of the party. He has activated the party activities in the constituency.

Sumanta is said to be associated with the Rashtriya Swayam Sangha (RSS) since 2007 and has been organizing programs over the years.

Two parallel organizations are running in the BJP. Former party candidates Sarada Pradhan and Choudhury Pravat Keshari Mishra ran their organization separately in the Mahanga constituency.

Recently, Sarada organized a grand program which was attended by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.  Sumanta has created a stir by organizing processions in the area.
