Phulbani, June 17: In a tragic incident, body of a new born baby girl was found in a hospital toilet at Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital on Monday.
The sanitation workers spotted the body of the baby girl during routine cleaning and informed the hospital authorities. Being informed, Town police also reached the spot, seized the body and sent that for post-mortem.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the infant's identity and the circumstances surrounding her presence in the toilet. Initial suspicions suggest the possibility of abandonment. Police have initiated an inquiry, including a review of CCTV footage, and have registered a case of unnatural death in connection with the incident.
