Bhubaneswar, August 31: The construction work of the new Bhubaneswar Judicial Complex is almost over and will be inaugurated soon.
This state-of-the-art new complex has four corridors. The interior work is almost over and will be inaugurated within few days, said a senior official of the Law Department.
The five-storey judicial complex will have 55 courtrooms, record rooms, a library, conference hall, canteen and other facilities.
The entire building, including the basement, will be air-conditioned. Additionally, the basement will provide parking for 50 four-wheelers for judges, and a large parking lot is also being constructed to accommodate thousands of two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Water fountains and lawns will enhance the building’s aesthetics.
Notably, Law Minister Pruthviraj Harichandan had visited the construction site of the new building and oversaw the ongoing work. Later, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Chakradhari Sharan Singh, visited the under construction building on July 30.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bhubaneswar judicial complex was held in 2012 and the construction work began in 2017-18 with an initial budget of Rs 98 crore and an additional Rs 70 crore was sanctioned in 2020 for parking lot.
