Bhubaneswar, December 8: The State Government has spent Rs 3,39,52,223 to renovate and repair official bungalows of Chief Minister and 16 other Ministers after the formation of new BJP Government in the State in 2024, the Odisha Assembly was informed on Monday.

In a written response to a question, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the House that Rs 50,10,871 and Rs 23,47,487 have been spent to renovate two official quarters of Chief Minister in Unit-II and Unit-V areas, respectively in the State capital.

While highest amount of Rs 73,58,358 lakh has been spent for the renovation for Chief Minister’s Government accommodations, the amount spent to renovate School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond’s Government quarters stood at Rs 5,11, 578, lowest in the expenditure list.

A total of Rs 28,21,230 has been spent for the repair of the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo while Rs 25,74,672 has been spent for the Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia.

Similarly, Rs 25,72,517 has been spent for the renovation of Higher Education and Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and Rs 20,93,811 has been spent to renovate the official accommodation of Excise, Law and Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.

The Bhubaneswar (R&B) Division-II has carried out the repair and renovation drive, the CM informed the House.
