New Delhi, July 29: The counselling process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 is set to commence on August 14, according to a notice issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on July 29. The registration for counselling is expected to begin in the first week of August, as stated by Dr. B. Srinivas, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Candidates are advised to regularly check the MCC website for the latest updates and notices regarding the counselling process. "The counselling will facilitate the allotment of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats across around 710 medical colleges nationwide. Additionally, it will include counselling for 21,000 BDS seats, as well as Ayush and nursing seats," Dr. Srinivas explained.
The MCC will oversee the counselling for the 15% All-India Quota seats and 100% of the seats in all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, central universities, and deemed universities.
The announcement comes shortly after the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the final results of the NEET-UG exam on July 26. The exam had been surrounded by controversy, with the Supreme Court recently dismissing a series of petitions alleging irregularities in its conduct.
