Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today met a group of 40 foreign delegates from 12 countries participating in the 37th Parliamentary Internship Programme at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The delegates—part of a programme organised by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRTID), New Delhi—held discussions with the Chief Minister on governance, development, and legislative practices.

Welcoming the visiting participants, Majhi highlighted Odisha’s deep-rooted democratic values and the 89-year legacy of dedicated public service upheld by the State Legislative Assembly. He noted that Odisha’s parliamentary procedures are regarded among the finest in the country.

Majhi shared that from June 2024 to June 2025, the Odisha Legislative Assembly convened 62 sessions and spent a record 12 hours and 25 minutes deliberating on the Odisha University (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

Emphasising the State’s leadership in digital governance, the Chief Minister said Odisha is at the forefront of digitising legislative processes.

He outlined several initiatives such as the adoption of the National e-Vidhan Application, the use of e-Office for administrative work, a fully digital library, and AI-driven tools for research and indexing.

He also informed the delegates that the Assembly had received a national award for excellence in digital technology.
