Naveen Patnaik to lead BJD roadshow in Bhubaneswar ahead of General Elections

Bhubaneswar, May 20:  Chief Minister of Odisha and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik is set to embark on a significant roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Monday, rallying for public support ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Scheduled to commence from the Punama Gate Flyover in Palaspalli and culminate at Ekamra Square via several key city points including BDA Colony Square, Sundarpada Hata, Pokhariput Square, Prameya Square, Siripur Chhak, Ganga Nagar Square, and Rajendra Vihar, the roadshow aims to engage with citizens and garner electoral backing.

In anticipation of the event, the Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth regulation and unhindered traffic flow for the public's convenience. The advisory outlines specific restrictions:

Road Closure: From 4 PM onwards on May 20, 2024, vehicular movement will be restricted from Punama Gate Flyover to Ekamra Square via designated routes until the conclusion of the roadshow.
 
Route Diversions: Routes from Khandagiri Square to Jagamara Square and from Delta Square to City Women’s College Square will be diverted from 4 PM onwards on May 20, 2024.
Lane Restrictions: Vehicles entering from lane/by lane are prohibited from accessing the specified roads during the aforementioned time and date.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police urges the public to plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience. This event follows a similar roadshow held by the CM last Thursday and underscores the intensified campaign efforts of the BJD ahead of the elections. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi is slated to conduct a parallel roadshow in Puri on the same day, further highlighting the political fervor in Odisha as the state braces for the second phase of elections.
