Bhubaneswar, June 23: Former Odisha CM and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik is recovering steadily following a successful surgery for cervical arthritis at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
His elder brother, Prem Patnaik, provided an update through a video message, thanking the people of Odisha for their overwhelming support, prayers, and well-wishes for the former Chief Minister.
"Naveen is stable, conscious, and under medical observation. He’s even managed to walk a few steps to the bathroom," Prem Patnaik shared, adding that his brother is doing very well post-surgery.
The operation, which lasted about two hours, was conducted under the direct supervision of renowned cardiologist Dr. Ramakanta Panda and went off without any complications.
Prem Patnaik also acknowledged the emotional strength drawn from the people of Odisha during this challenging period, expressing deep gratitude for their unwavering support.
