Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered SIT probe into the murder case of a five-year-old girl in Nayagarh district. The opposition BJP and Congress members caused uproar demanding independent inquiry into the matter forcing frequent adjournments and finally till 3 pm. If SIT investigation is what is required, State Government will take steps in this regard and do it immediately. My Government is always committed for free and fair investigation and we always want justice to be done, said Naveen to the Speaker. I am deeply saddened by the incident. My Government will always stand for Rule of Law. I would request all the members to cooperate and participate, he added. Earlier, the Odisha government had directed a Crime Branch probe into the alleged abduction and killing of the five-year-old girl. The girl’s father Ashok Sahoo and mother Saudamini on Tuesday attempted self-immolation outside the Odisha Assembly alleging that they have been denied justice.
