Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the state-of-the-art Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital, a 330-bed medical facility in Talcher dedicated to providing specialized healthcare services. The inauguration ceremony took place during a video conference.
Expressing gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the central government's support in establishing the hospital, Chief Minister Patnaik highlighted the critical role the hospital is poised to play in the fields of healthcare and medical research.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Patnaik emphasized that the hospital symbolizes the battleground and the foundation of self-reliance. Born in the sacred land of the eminent freedom fighter Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, he acknowledged Pradhan's pivotal contribution to the state's development in the post-independence era.
Paying homage to the late leader, Chief Minister Patnaik mentioned that Pabitra Mohan Pradhan had dedicated his life to the cause of independence and played a significant role in the development of the state. The hospital's inauguration is a fitting tribute to his legacy.
In his address, Chief Minister Patnaik underscored the government's commitment to prioritizing healthcare services. He noted that the number of medical colleges and healthcare professionals in the state has increased over the past few years. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the growing trust and preference of the public for government hospitals, leading to an increase in footfall.
Participating in the programme, Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said that this hospital will be very useful for providing healthcare services to Talcher and its people. Coal India has contributed a lot to this hospital and Coal India will give all possible support to convert this hospital into a medical college in the coming days. He also said that the MCL will provide assistance of Rs 628 crores for managing the hospital.
