Rourkela, Dec 18: Infamous Maoist operative Ganesh has surrendered to the Rourkela police in the presence of DIG Brijesh Ray and SP Nitesh Wadhwani, delivering a major setback to the active Maoist network.

Ganesh, who had joined the Maoist organization in 2022, was on the most-wanted list of Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bihar police. According to officials, he was involved in multiple operations, including targeting security personnel with IEDs and a loot near the Banko stone quarry. Several cases are registered against him in Jharkhand and Odisha.

Following his surrender, Ganesh will be entitled to all the benefits and facilities announced by the government for surrendered Maoists, SP Nitesh Wadhwani confirmed.
