Anandapur, Sept 4: A young man from Anandapur has brought recognition to the region with his unique initiative to spread disaster awareness. Trilochan Sahu of Fakirpur village has been conferred with a National Award for his outstanding contribution to disaster preparedness and public awareness.

Through creative paintings and awareness messages displayed on public walls, especially school buildings and boundary walls, Trilochan has been working to educate people about disaster safety and preparedness.

His efforts have now earned national recognition. Trilochan received the award in New Delhi from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The award ceremony was held over two days, on September 2 and 3. Trilochan was presented with a certificate, a silver plaque and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.

The dignitaries attending the ceremony appreciated his innovative approach and his continued efforts to create awareness about disaster management among the public.

Trilochan is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at MPC University in Baripada, with his research focused on climate change.

He says he will continue his campaign and work towards making disaster awareness stronger and more widespread in the days ahead.
