Dhenkanal, Oct 9: The National-Level Palli Shree Mela-2025 was inaugurated on Wednesday evening at Mahishapat in Dhenkanal, coinciding with the auspicious Gajalakshmi Puja. The event is organized jointly by the district administration and Ormas with the goal of promoting rural craftsmanship and self-help groups.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Odisha Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee and Parjang MLA, Vibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, who was the chief guest at the event.

The mela, which will continue till the 14th of this month, has attracted 658 self-help groups from 30 districts across the state. The event aims to provide a platform for the sale of various household goods and products from both within Odisha and outside the state, creating a unique marketplace for rural artisans.

According to the District Collector, the Palli Shree Mela will offer a significant opportunity for rural entrepreneurs and self-help groups to showcase and sell their products, making it a great occasion for economic growth and cultural exchange in the region.
