Bhopal, June 8: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh who clinched victory in the Lok Sabha election for the sixth time, including one bypoll, expressed profound admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that his leadership is a source of pride for every citizen of India.
In a video message released late on Friday, Chouhan lauded Prime Minister Modi for steering India to unprecedented heights over the past decade, asserting that his third term in office holds the promise of further shaping the nation's trajectory of growth.
"Under Prime Minister Modi's stewardship, India has experienced inclusive development over the past decade, and his upcoming tenure is poised to propel the nation towards even greater progress," remarked Chouhan.
Reflecting on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) remarkable electoral sweep in Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan attributed the party's success to the unwavering dedication of its workers across the state.
Furthermore, Chouhan attributed the dismal performance of the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh to internal strife and factionalism within its ranks, suggesting that these factors contributed significantly to their defeat.
Having secured victory in the Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha constituency, Chouhan defeated Congress' Pratap Bhanu Sharma by an impressive margin of over 8 lakh votes, marking the second-highest victory margin in Madhya Pradesh, trailing only behind BJP's Shankar Lalwani, who secured victory in the Indore constituency with a margin exceeding 11 lakh votes.
