​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: Abhijit Majumdar, ‘Hit Machine of the Ollywood Industry’ remained chill for good.

Majumdar’s smiling face, appealing stage shows and his mesmorizing pitch, all remained silent for ever, as the ace lyricist left for his heavenly abode on Sunday.

The ace lyricist passed away this morning in the AIIMS Hospital Bhubaneswar during treatment.

Majumdar was receiving prolonged medical care at the premier institute for months. He was admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4, 2025 in a critical condition and was placed on ventilator support due to the severity of his illness.

According to medical sources, the music composer was suffering from multiple health complications, including high blood pressure and chronic liver disease. Despite sustained treatment and close medical supervision, his condition remained yet alarming and he passed away today.

Among other milestones,the last song composed by acclaimed Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar, before his health issues in late 2025, includes recent hits like "Chalak Saiyan," "Kuni Kuni," and "Prema Nisha".

He was a prolific composer, known for numerous hits such as "Radhe Radhe" and "Ae Rangabati".

He was actively composing up until 2025, with tracks appearing on platforms like JioSaavn and YouTube.He produced numerous songs for Odia films and albums throughout his career.

In Jan 2022, his song "Loss Item" was announced as a major break-up party anthem that went viral for its craze among youths.

Abhijit Majumdar was a music machine for the Ollywood industry in Odisha, for his music direction in at least 50 hit films that gained utmost popularity.
