Nabarangpur, Jul 7: The state government is set to launch a four-day free medical camp in Nabarangpur starting today, as part of the Chief Minister’s Air Health Services initiative. The camp aims to provide quality healthcare services to the residents of the district, focusing on accessible and advanced medical treatment.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services across Odisha, highlighting the ongoing upgrade of district headquarters hospitals to offer free and high-quality medical care.
"The people’s government is dedicated to improving healthcare infrastructure. In order to assure citizens, district hospitals are being strengthened to provide free medical services. This four-day medical camp in Nabarangpur will offer treatment through specialist doctors from medical colleges," the Chief Minister said.
The medical camp will feature specialist doctors from SCB Medical College, offering super-specialty services such as surgeries, cardiology and neurology consultations, along with advanced diagnostic tests. Approximately 938 pre-screened patients are expected to receive free treatment and medicines.
The district administration will fully support the event, ensuring smooth coordination and logistics.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister also announced plans for similar health camps in Nuapada and Malkangiri districts in the coming months, as part of the state's broader initiative to improve healthcare access across rural areas.
"The government is taking all necessary steps to expand healthcare services. Similar camps are planned for Nuapada and Malkangiri in the near future," the post concluded.
The initiative aims to bridge gaps in healthcare access, especially in rural and underserved areas, providing specialized medical care to those in need.
