Nabarangpur, Nov 10: In a horrific incident, a class-6 girl student was allegedly gang-raped by two teachers of the school in Kundei area of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.

Though the incident took place on November 7, it came to fore as the victim’s health condition deteriorated. As per reports, the victim initially did not disclose the matter before her family members. Later, her health condition deteriorated and she was taken to a local hospital, where she was given pain killer. However, the pain persisted and she was again taken to the hospital. The matter came to fore when the attending nurse, on suspecting some foul play, talked to the girl, during which she revealed that the headmaster and an assistant teacher of the school had raped her. On learning about it, the victim’s family members lodged a complaint with Kundei police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and detained the two teachers for questioning.
On the other hand, the girl was admitted to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) last night for better treatment.
