Bhubaneswar, Nov 19:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today directed the Superintendents of Police (SPs) to act without succumbing to any pressure and to ensure that real offenders are identified and brought to justice strictly as per the law.
The two-day State-level Conference of District Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs), held at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar, concluded today.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that maintaining law and order and effectively controlling crime remain the highest priorities of the state government.
Appreciating the performance of the Odisha Police, he said that since the formation of the new government, sensitive and critical cases have been solved swiftly, bringing recognition to the State’s police force.
He further noted that significant steps have been taken to strengthen, modernize, and reform policing practices in Odisha.
Majhi highlighted the need for strong coordination between District Collectors and SPs. Development and security, he said, must go hand in hand, and both administrative and law-enforcement leadership should work as a unified team to ensure this.
