Bhubaneswar, August 30: The Odisha government will implement the ‘Mukhyamantri Sampurna Pushti Yojana’ in mission mode through the Odisha Nutrition Mission (ONM), Chief Secretary Anu Garg said after a meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The mission will focus on eliminating malnutrition, particularly among children, pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls and vulnerable tribal communities. It will initially cover 18 districts with relatively high levels of nutritional deficiency and include 23,088 Anganwadi Centres.

The government will strengthen digital monitoring through the Poshan Tracker, with special focus on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, low-birth-weight newborns and severely malnourished children. Under the‘Suposhit Odisha Mission’, the government aims to bring severe underweight and wasting among children at Anganwadi level down to zero.

The programme will also provide nutritious food and specialised nutritional support, while strengthening food quality testing, micronutrient interventions, community participation and data-based monitoring.

An allocation of ₹360.68 crore has been proposed for the Odisha Nutrition Mission for 2026–27 and 2027–28.

The meeting also reviewed the‘Samrudha Anganwadi Yojana’, with instructions to complete unfinished Anganwadi Centres on priority, construct new centres where needed and provide boundary walls to improve safety and create child-friendly facilities.
