Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: Cuttack Lok Sabha MP and senior BJD leader Bhartruhari Mahtab is again in the limelight.
On the first day of the New Year 2024, the foundation stone of the mega metro rail project for Cuttack-Bhubaneswar was laid by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Ratagada Lenka Sahi near Trishulia which comes under the parliamentary constituency of Cuttack. But Cuttack BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab was conspicuously absent in the mega event which is now a point of discussion in the twin city.

The people in Twin City are curious to know as to why ruling party MP Mahtab was not seen in the function organized by the state government.
When Cuttack MP was asked about this development, his reply was something interesting. When the media persons asked about his absence from the function, MP Mahtab repeatedly asked, “Who are you to ask me this thing?".
Media representatives questioned as to whether the Cuttack MP was invited or not. He further said, “ Ask the government whether I was invited as an MP or not”.
When asked about the rumors about his joining the BJP, he said, "Listen to the speech I gave when I was awarded as the best MP."
