​​​​​​​Sambalpur, Jan 4: In a tragic incident, three people were killed when a speeding car tossed a stationary truck in Sambalpur City on Sunday.

The incident took place on National Highway 55 near Naksapali under the Dhanupali police station in the afternoon.

According to report, a car was leaving for the Maneswar area carrying three persons. Meanwhile, the speeding car hit an ash-laden truck, parked on roadside at the Naksapali. As a result, three persons on board sustained critical injuries, of which two died on the spot.

Locals accompanied by cops, pulled an injured youth from the car and rushed to the hospital for resuscitation. However, he was declared received dead by the attending doctor.

A case has been registered in this connection. Efforts are on to nab the truck driver who is on the run, for illegally parking the vehicle on the road, said police.
