Dhenkanal/Jajpur, Aug 30: Senior BJP leader and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday said the Narendra Modi government is always taking steps to empower women and protect them.
Participating in ‘Surakhya Bandhan Utsav’ on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Pradhan said the Modi government has sent huge money to Odisha for the welfare of women.
“There is no shortage of money. But under this inefficient and corrupt government in Odisha, the beneficiaries are not getting old age allowance and remuneration under MGNREGA without giving bribe,” he said.
The Minister said under the Modi government, about 40 lakh SHG women of Odisha have received loans of about 25 thousand crore rupees at low interest.
The Central government has taken a decision to reduce the price of cooking gas by Rs. 200. Due to the successful implementation of the Ujjawala Yojana under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the health status of many mothers has been secured, he said.
