Chandikhole, March 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came down heavily on Congress and INDI Alliance for promoting family rule.

“INDI alliance is unhappy with Modi's guarantee. The alliance has been created only to safeguard the interest of their own family members. They don't want Modi work for people of the country and make India a leading economy in the world,” said Modi while addressing BJP workers here.

He lashed out at Congress for coal scam, recruitment scams and completely failing to provide basic necessities to the poor people of the country.

He attacked the previsous Congress governments.

"When the poor asked for help from the Congress govt, the govt demanded guarantees. They (Congress) demanded guarantees from everybody...After 2014, the son of a poor man came to power and became the Prime Minister, he said that Modi would become the guarantee for the poor..." he added.

The Prime Minister, however, refrained from making any comments about the BJD and the state government in his speech.

He said that the enthusiasm and energy shown by the   people at the meeting venue is a big indicator that NDA would surpass 400 target in Lok Sabha this time.

"You people coming here in such large numbers shows the mood of the East. Odisha's resolution is very clear today. This resolution is 'Abki Baar 400 Paar'..." he said.

Beginning his address with Jai Jagannath and Maa Biraja, he paid tribute to legendary leader and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary today.

He said over 2 lakh crore have been invested that would change the fate of the youths in Odisha.

Speaking about the solar scheme, he said “Odisha is the land of the Sun God; PM Surya Ghar Yojana has been launched to provide free electricity; by installing rooftop solar panels, consumers can get 300 units of free electricity.”
