Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: The Odisha government has revised the expenditure allocated for uniforms and footwear for Anganwadi children under the Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana, with the aim of improving their quality.

Under the revised norms, the cost of uniforms for boys has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 175, while the allocation for girls’ uniforms has been raised from Rs 150 to Rs 250. In addition, the expenditure on footwear has also been enhanced, with the cost of shoes going up from Rs 100 to Rs 150.

Officials said the decision was taken to ensure that children attending Anganwadi centres receive better-quality uniforms and comfortable footwear, enabling them to attend classes in proper attire.

The revised rates are expected to benefit thousands of children enrolled in Anganwadi centres across Odisha under the scheme.
