Nabarangpur, Dec 9: A mob on Saturday killed a fierce bear that had killed a youth in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district this morning.
The incident took place in the Bhatra Siyuni area in the evening when the wild bear again barged into the nearby villages and attacked several residents.
Sources said the wild bear was found straying around the nearby areas after mauling one Deepak Kumar Dwivedy to death. The locals tried to chase it to the deep forest but in vain. Rather, it chased out locals more violently. Following this, the enraged mob thrashed it together to death.
On being informed, the forest officials seized the carcass from the spot and initiated an investigation.
