Mix-up in assigning duty for polling personnel in Cuttack

Cuttack, May 13: Concern has been raised over the alleged mix-up in assigning duty to polling personnel in Cuttack district of Odisha.

Professor Dr Sushant Kumar Kar of Sudarsan (Junior) Mahavidyalaya in 42 Mouza of the district has received two intimations for his poll duty.

The first intimation has assigned him the duty of presiding officer at a polling station under Banki Assembly constituency along with a group of six government employees. Kar has been asked to join the training camp at Charchika Girls High School, Banki on May 17.

The second intimation he received the next day has assigned him as polling officer for a booth in Salipur Assembly constituency along with a group of six polling personnel. They have been asked to undergo training on May 18 at Stewart School in Mission Road of Cuttack city.

Besides, 20 officers appointed as section officer for the election duty after joining training programme have further been assigned the duty of presiding officer and asked to undergo training.

After they filed complaint at the Collectorate, some officials have been withdrawn from the duty of presiding officer duty.
