Bhubaneswar, Dec 9: IIIT Bhubaneswar is set to host two major international academic events this December, bringing global researchers, industry leaders, and innovators to Odisha for groundbreaking discussions in remote sensing, geoscience, cryptology, and cybersecurity.

From 10–14 December 2025, IIIT Bhubaneswar will welcome delegates to the International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (InGARSS 2025), a globally anticipated event spotlighting the latest advancements in geoscience and remote sensing technologies. The institute announced that Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha and Chancellor of IIIT Bhubaneswar, will preside over the inaugural ceremony on 11 December,2025.

This year, InGARSS has received an overwhelming response, with over 500 paper submissions, out of which 241 authors have been selected to present. The conference will feature 151 poster presentations, 90 oral presentations, and an exciting Student Paper Competition—with 18 finalists chosen from 57 submissions. Participants will engage in discussions on AI-driven remote sensing, SAR imaging, climate analytics, disaster resilience, and environmental sustainability, reflecting the global urgency to leverage advanced sensing technologies for societal benefit.

Immediately following InGARSS, IIIT Bhubaneswar will host INDOCRYPT 2025, one of India’s most prestigious international conferences on cryptology and cybersecurity, from 15–17 December 2025. Organized under the aegis of the Cryptology Research Society of India (CRSI), INDOCRYPT 2025 will convene eminent cryptographers, cybersecurity experts, academicians, industry technologists, and policymakers from across the world.

The valedictory ceremony will be graced by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, underscoring the state’s commitment to fostering digital security and technological innovation. The conference program includes keynote talks, tutorials, technical sessions, workshops, and panel discussions focusing on cryptographic advancements, information security, privacy-preserving technologies, and emerging cyberspace challenges—critical areas in an era of rapid digital transformation.

Both conferences underscore the relevance of Odisha as an emerging hub for technology and research. With its growing digital infrastructure, strategic coastal position, and increasing focus on climate resilience and cybersecurity, Odisha provides an ideal backdrop for deliberations on remote sensing technologies and secure digital systems. The themes of the two conferences—sustainability, climate analytics, AI-driven sensing, and cybersecurity—align with the state’s developmental priorities and its vision for a technologically empowered future.

By hosting these flagship international events, IIIT Bhubaneswar reaffirms its commitment to creating vibrant, collaborative spaces for breakthrough research and innovation, while elevating Odisha’s position on the global academic and technological map.
