Explore the exciting comeback of this popular rugged vehicle

Renault has finally brought back its legendary mid-size SUV to our shores. Buyers can now book the completely revamped vehicle, with prices kicking off at Rs 10.49 lakh and topping out at Rs 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries for the standard turbo-petrol models will roll out by April 2026. Fans looking forward to the highly anticipated strong-hybrid version will need to wait until the festive season. This grand return marks a huge milestone for the brand since the original model bowed out of the market in 2022.

Striking Exterior and Premium Cabin Layout

Designers gave this new generation a bold, aggressive stance that commands attention on the road. It sports chunky black cladding, unique 18-inch black alloy wheels, and special LED headlights featuring distinctive eyebrow-shaped daytime running lights. Ground clearance sits comfortably at 212mm, making it perfect for tackling rough patches and uneven terrain.

Inside the cabin, drivers are greeted by a modern, fighter-jet-inspired dashboard layout. Key highlights of the interior include a massive 10.1-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. Practicality remains high with a generous 518-litre cargo space.

Performance enthusiasts will appreciate the fresh engine lineup, though diesel and all-wheel-drive options are no longer on the table. The base setup utilizes a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine pushing out 100bhp. For more power, a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit delivers a solid 163hp, mated to either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Later this year, a 1.8-litre strong hybrid variant will join the fleet. This advanced hybrid system promises exceptional city fuel efficiency by running mostly on electric power during urban commutes.

Protection remains a top priority for this heavily updated model. It proudly introduces Level 2 ADAS technology to the brand's local lineup, boasting features like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. Furthermore, every unit comes standard with six airbags and electronic stability control. Stepping back into a fiercely competitive segment, this rugged contender is ready to battle against popular names like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos.
