Bhubaneswar, May 28: Amid the dream of a Greater Bhubaneswar, the government of Odisha is going to draw out the best in the field of digital transformations.
The Urban Development Department in convergence with the IT Department, is going to develop a Next-Gen Hub for IT and Startups at the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) building located near the Acharya Vihar Complex.
Sources said, the Odisha government is of course planning to demolish the OCAC building located in the heart of the Capital City dreaming for a state-of-the-art Technology Business Tower.
If the masterplan is chalked out the new tower which is expected to be build at a cost of at least Rs 100 crore, will serve as a dedicated space for IT, ITeS, and ESDM companies, as well as startups and state’s innovation hubs.
The upcoming Technology Business Tower might contain approximately 3 lakh square feet of built-up space where all the IT firms, OCAC and digital Labs will work together.
Worth mentioning, the OCAC is an apex institution of the state to coordinating the Odisha Governance with the IT innovations and National Informatic Center (NIC), with its digital communication tools.
If the Tech-biz mission begins soon and the OCAC Tower is razed accordingly for the deemed digital incubation project, the hub of the state’s prime digital organ will have to function elsewhere during the transformation period. However, the government is yet to work out a suitable venue, well compatible with essential digital & IT resources, for the OCAC office, to temporarily function from.
