Bengaluru Crushes UP Warriorz Following Stunning Powerplay Batting Display

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a masterclass in aggressive T20 cricket on Monday night, dismantling the UP Warriorz by nine wickets. While their opening victory of the WPL 2026 season was a tense affair, this encounter at the DY Patil Stadium was a one-sided show dominated by an incredible performance from Grace Harris RCB.

Warriorz Struggle Early On

The UP Warriorz found themselves in immediate trouble after being put in to bat. Lauren Bell set the tone by swinging the ball dangerously, eventually forcing Harleen Deol into a mistimed shot. The collapse continued as Shreyanka Patil struck twice in a single over, removing heavyweights Meg Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield. When Nadine de Klerk claimed two wickets in her first two balls, the Warriorz were reeling at a dismal 50 for 5.

A late-innings recovery led by Deepti Sharma and Deandra Dottin provided some respectability to the score. The duo stitched together an unbeaten 93-run partnership, with Deepti's late flourish in the final over pushing the total to 143. However, on a batting-friendly surface, this target proved to be far from enough.

The Harris Hurricane

RCB decided to go for the jugular from the very first ball. Instead of a cautious approach, Grace Harris RCB was promoted to attack, and she did so with clinical precision. Harris reached her half-century in just 22 balls, highlighted by a brutal 32-run over against Deandra Dottin. Her assault included three sixes and three fours in that single over, effectively ending the contest before the Powerplay was even over.

By the time Harris fell for a magnificent 85 off 40 deliveries, the victory was a mere formality. At the other end, skipper Smriti Mandhana played a composed and elegant knock of 47 not out, ensuring there were no further hiccups. RCB chased down the target with a staggering 47 balls to spare, sending a clear message to the rest of the league about their championship intentions.
