Pipili, Oct 19: Miscreants allegedly attacked the staff of Pipili Toll Plaza in Puri and resorted to blank firing last night.
The toll plaza worker suffered injuries in the attack.
The police have apprehended three persons in this connection and also seized the car used in the crime. Three more accused are currently on the run.
As per reports, six persons were travelling from Bhubaneswar to Puri in a car when an altercation ensued between them and the toll plaza staff over some issue.
It later took an ugly turn when one of them got down from the car and started thrashing a toll plaza staff. Thereafter, he fired two rounds of bullets in the air and fled the spot.
On getting the information, police arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation.
A probe has been launched into the matter and efforts are on to nab the other accused involved, said the police.
