Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: The State Commission for Women has sought a report from the Commissionerate Police regarding the alleged misbehavior by Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak to a woman journalist yesterday.
Taking suo moto cognizance of the incident, the Commission has asked the police to submit an inquiry report within 15 days.
Notably, Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak, aka Tutu Nayak, allegedly slapped a woman journalist in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Journalist Debasmita Rout on Friday alleged Sanjay slapped and misbehaved with her while she was covering the release of a new film ‘Pratha’ at city-based Sriya-Swati Talkies. She has filed a complaint against Nayak in Kharavela Nagar police station.
Meanwhile, the members of Odisha Women in Media (OWM), a platform for female professionals met Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh and submitted a memorandum demanding an impartial probe into the incident. The association members also urged the top cop to ensure a safe environment for the working female journalists in the city.
