Boudh, Aug 30: A minor girl was rescued from the Mahanadi River after she jumped into the water off the Marjakud Bridge in Odisha’s Boudh on Friday.
The girl, identified as a Class IX student of a Private school is under treatment in the headquarters hospital, said sources.
As per reports, the girl reportedly placed her slippers and school bag on the bridge and suddenly jumped off the bridge into the river. A few passersby sprang into action to save the girl who had made a sucide bid.
The reason behind her attempt to jump into the river is yet to be ascertained.
On being informed of the incident, police reached the hospital and initiated an investigation.
