Kinjirkela, June 9: A youth was arrested on charges of abducting and sexually assaulting a minor girl in Sundargarh district.

Sources said, the incident took place while the minor girl was alone.

As per reports, the minor girl was standing alone when the youth took advantage of the situation and allegedly abducted her.

He then allegedly raped her.

The incident took place under the Kinjirkela police station limits.

Following the incident, the family members of the minor girl lodged a complaint with the police. Acting promptly on the complaint, police initiated an investigation and began efforts to trace the accused. The investigation subsequently led to the arrest of the youth allegedly involved in the crime.

Shortly after the complaint was filed, police arrested the accused youth.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
