Jajpur, Feb 3: As part of preparations for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu, the district administration has declared a holiday for 48 government and private schools within the Jajpur municipal limits on Tuesday. The decision was taken by the District Collector in view of security and logistical arrangements.

President Murmu is scheduled to visit Jajpur on Tuesday, prompting heightened activity across the town. The district administration, police, and temple authorities are working round the clock to ensure smooth arrangements. Several areas of the town have been cleaned, while pending development works are being completed on a fast-track basis.

The road stretch from NC College Square to Medical Square has been cleaned, while the road from Medical Square to Biraja Temple has been fully resurfaced and marked. The President will arrive by air and land at the administrative ground near Kusuma, which has been completely asphalted. Barricades have been erected around the ground, and three temporary helipads have been constructed.

During her visit, the President will offer prayers at the Biraja Temple, the presiding deity of Jajpur, and later perform pind daan rituals at Navagaya. The temple premises have undergone extensive cleaning, repainting, and illumination. The interior and exterior of the temple, including its stone boundary walls, have been washed and polished.

For security reasons, devotees will not be allowed inside the temple from the President’s arrival until her departure. Only 8 to 10 selected servitors will be present to conduct the worship and ritual proceedings. The list of servitors has already been finalized.

President Murmu is on a six-day visit to Odisha. She is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, by special aircraft at 6:40 pm on Monday. Security has been tightened at the airport and Lok Seva Bhawan, which has been declared a no-flying zone.

According to DCP Jagmohan Meena, around 32 platoons of police force have been deployed across the city for security. An additional 10 platoons have been assigned for route lining during the presidential convoy movement. The security setup is being overseen by 4 DCPs, 5 Additional DCPs, 23 ACPs, 33 Inspectors, and 121 Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors. Special Tactical Unit personnel and 52 women constables have also been deployed.

A rehearsal of the presidential convoy was conducted on Sunday evening from the airport to Lok Seva Bhawan and up to Xavier Square.
