Bhubaneswar, July 20: A Microsoft Cloud outage has reportedly hit air services in Odisha’s Biju Patnaik International (BPI) Airport in Bhubaneswar.
Delays in arrival and departure with entire IT services have been severely affected due to a global Microsoft outage, said sources.
Frontier Airlines including IndiGo, Akasa Air, Vistara, and SpiceJet have encountered IT-related glitches to deal with the passengers' commuting. Flights bookings and check-ins at the airport were hit which led to manual processing of services.
To deal with the passengers' inconvenience and safety traffic, the BPIA authorities have switched over to a manual process for generating boarding passes and to addressing other essential functionalities.
According to a BPIA official, the global outage has affected millions of Microsoft users worldwide, with widespread disruptions reported in various sectors whereas air services across the world have been severely affected resulting in jeopardy in airways.
