Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust, in association with the Hockey Association of Odisha, is going to organise the 2nd Michael Kindo Memorial Championship Trophy 2026 – All India Women’s Hockey Championship in accordance with the guidelines of Hockey India. The tournament is scheduled to be held from 22nd to 27th May 2026 at Kalinga Stadium here.
Altogether eight teams divided in two groups to play the league round matches, the top two teams of each group will qualify for the semifinal rounds. The champion and runners up will receive a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively.
While addressing the Media, Hockey India President Padmashree Dilip Tirkey said “for the first time an all-India Tournament for women is going to be held at Bhubaneswar. Four teams from our State and four other State teams will participate in the meet. It will be a great opportunity for our State young women players to compete alongside many experienced women players of the nation”.
Among others, Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust Chairman Ratikant Nayak, President Biswabijay Sahoo, Secretary Ranjan Kumar Das, advisor Sesha Kissan and the members of the trust were present in the Press Meet here.
Group-A: Sports Hostel Rourkela, South Eastern Railway, Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust, SAI Kolkata.
Group-B: Sports Hostel Sundargarh, CISF, Hockey Simdega, Odisha Police.
