Puri, Dec 9: With a few hours left for the first T20 match against South Africa at Barabati Stadium, several players and Coach Gautam Gambhir visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri seeking the blessing of the sibling deities ahead of the first T20 match against South Africa at Barabati Stadium.

According to reports, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Hardik Pandya, and captain Suryakumar Yadav, along with his wife, were among the players who visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Head coach Gautam Gambhir also accompanied the team.

Under tight security, the players entered the temple, with Suryakumar greeting devotees with ‘Jai Jagannath’ at the Singhadwar before offering prayers.

The Indian team is looking to break a losing streak at Barabati, having lost both previous T20 matches against South Africa at the venue. The team is aiming to start the 5-match series on a winning note and continue their momentum from the ODI series win.

The match is scheduled to begin at 7 pm, and the stadium is expected to be buzzing with excitement as fans cheer on the home team.
