Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: The second meeting of the High Power Committee (HPC) on Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) was held under the Chairmanship of the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary on Wednesday.
The HPC recommended 10026 new projects costing around Rs 2723 crore to be taken up under RIDF Tranche-XXIX which is over and above the recommendation made by the first HPC so far. Under Tranche-XXIX total 18011 projects costing around Rs 6870 crore have been recommended for sanction by NABARD.
Projects in different sectors like mega pipe water supply (pws), roads and bridges, instream storage structures, mega lift projects, flood control projects, cluster lift irrigation projects (clip), shallow tube wells, micro river lift projects etc. have been sanctioned and taken up under RIDF scheme.
Rural infrastructure Development is critical to bridge the rural urban divide and accelerate inclusive growth and open to rural economy.
In order to give a thrust to rural infrastructure development, the state government is availing assistance from NABARD. During the meeting, achievements made by different implementing departments in terms of completion of projects and making those available to public use was well appreciated and lauded.
Development Commissioner -cum-Additional Chief Secretary praised all the implementing Departments for their excellent performance in terms of submission of their reimbursement claims and completion of projects making the State a consistent performer. Odisha has been performing consistently the best and being ranked no.1 in the country in terms of disbursement of RIDF loan by NABARD since 2020.
