Medical board in Koraput to verify terminal illness claims of 680 teachers seeking transfer

Koraput, June 19: The Odisha State Standing Medical Board in Koraput will conduct medical examinations for 680 teachers who have applied for transfers under the terminal illness category.

The verification process has been started to check whether the medical claims submitted by teachers regarding serious illnesses affecting themselves, their spouses, or children are genuine.

The examinations will be held at the Clinical Lecture Theatre of SLN Medical College and Hospital, Koraput, following instructions from the Directorate of Elementary Education, Odisha. Teachers who have applied for intra-district and inter-district transfers under this category must appear before the Medical Board along with the concerned patient.

According to the schedule, 125 applicants from Rayagada district will be examined on July 2, 179 applicants from Nabarangpur on July 3, and 125 applicants from Malkangiri on July 4. A total of 219 applicants from Koraput district will appear before the board on July 6. Another 32 applicants from Koraput under primary, secondary, and Mapped-Up-Day categories will be examined on July 7.

Officials said the patient’s physical presence is compulsory during the medical examination. Applicants have been asked to reach the centre by 10 AM on their scheduled date.

They must carry a copy of their online transfer application, identity proof of both the applicant and patient, original medical records, and test reports submitted during the application process. Photocopies of all documents will also be required.

The Medical Board will examine the patient’s condition and decide whether the medical claim meets the rules under the terminal illness transfer category. Applicants will also need to complete the required form and submit a passport-size photograph before the examination.
