Sambalpur, May 08: Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCL) inaugurated the advanced medical equipment worth Rs 6.71 crore to upgrade medical facilities at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Burla in Sambalpur district, on World Thalassemia Day.
Under it’s flagship healthcare CSR initiative, “Aarogya”, MCL has provided state-of-the-art medical equipment to key departments at VIMSAR—including Orthopaedics, General Medicine, Community Medicine, Anaesthesia, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Neurosurgery, Transfusion Medicine, and Ophthalmology.
Aimed at enhancing diagnostic capabilities and improving overall patient care, these advanced facilities will benefit thousands of patients, particularly from Western Odisha and neighbouring states such as Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand ensuring access to quality healthcare services.
Committed to better the public health services in the state of Odisha, MCL, under “Aarogya” has undertaken various initiatives including the development of Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College and Hospital in Talcher, Cardiac Care Hospital in Jharsuguda, and provisioning of critical medical equipment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
