Sambalpur, Sept 24: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar for providing skill development training to 520 candidates under its CSR initiative.
With a total outlay of Rs 3.52 crore, the programme will provide industry-oriented skill training in two trades namely plastics processing and injection moulding.
The candidates will be selected primarily from the company’s operational districts and aspirational districts of Odisha with inclusion minimum 30% women candidates.
A key component of the programme is its focus on employment outcomes. CIPET will ensure placement of minimum 70% of the trained candidates, thereby facilitating transition from skill training to sustainable employment opportunities in the relevant sectors.
Through this initiative, MCL seeks to strengthen the skill ecosystem in Odisha and create enhanced opportunities for the youth, particularly women, from its operational and aspirational districts.
The programme reflects MCL’s continued commitment towards skill development, employment generation and inclusive socio-economic development through its CSR initiatives.
